The second week of rebuilding in Ganesh Than has seen the school begin to take form.

Over the past week the team has been busy mixing almost 2 tonnes of concrete, laying thousands of bricks and cutting and bending hundreds of pieces of reinforced steel for the support beams.  The days have been hot and at times it has felt like slow and repetitive work, however the progress is obvious when comparing the building from the beginning of the week to the end.

The enthusiasm and excitement surrounding the school’s development has even inspired many locals to join in and help the team.

Away from the construction site the team has also had a busy week – Karina returned to Australia and the team welcomed Jess and Chris, Stu celebrated his birthday with the students singing happy birthday (Nepali style) and Anita reveled in Hawthorn’s third successive premiership, streaming the game live.

With the school nearing completion the students will soon be able to move out from underneath the tarps and into their brand new classrooms.
